As you may know, I’ve recently been robbed. Absolutely everything electronic and of worth was taken from me. Horrible, yes. But as speed bumps come to us in life, we need to overcome them with positivity right? Although my entire life’s backup of photos is gone, I’ve found the silver lining in this whole experience. I got the camera of my dreams – The Sony a7r ii. I chose this camera for it’s vast abilities when it comes to photos, but also the slow-motion video. I started my adventure with the new camera and decided to head up Ben Lomond with some friends. New Zealand has an insane amount of adventures to get on!
I got the camera in the mail, and it was all in CHINESE. The first forum I looked at said that if the camera came in whichever language, it was bound to the camera and there was no way of changing to another language. I just about died. I thought, “oh of course, this is just my luck!”. Lesson of the day, don’t trust the first forum you read. I managed to switch it to English thank god, or else this post would have been about how bad my luck is.
Thanks for the epic shot below Sergio!
I’m someone who likes to post about a hike only if I completed the hike. Unfortunately, it was extremely icy and as we would be coming down in the dark, we decided it probably wasn’t a good idea to head to the top. My second attempt at Ben Lomond was unsuccessful, but fully successful in capturing amazing views and hanging out with great friends!
We were blessed with a beauty of a sunset, what do you think? I love when the sky is pink! My favourite part of this hike, was the gondola. Yes, we took the gondola up and down, lazy bums! But seriously, if your planning on doing the entire Ben Lomond, it’s quite the treat to be able to shave off an hour off your hike!
That’s just about a wrap on my first adventure with my new Sony a7r ii. Let me know which photo you liked the most, I know it’s probably the pink mountain sky. Write me a comment below, I always love chatting with you guys!
