As my time in New Zealand slowly comes to an end, I’m frantically trying to tick epic things off my list. Isthmus Peak was one of the hikes I’ve always wanted to do. Since being in New Zealand for almost 2 years now, I’ve noticed that a large part in the middle was very routine. I sometimes forgot how beautiful where I lived actually was because it just felt normal – like home. It’s always when you first get somewhere, or when you’re leaving that you actually try to seize the moment. So in all my efforts to not do this next time around, I’m going to do all the epic stuff I can before I leave. Most things obviously involve hiking because I’m obsessed with getting that shot from the top of the mountain. #doitforthegram
So, Isthmus Peak. It’s a pretty good hike I’d say. About 6 hours return. We didn’t end up going to the very very top, but I think we did pretty good. Not enough warm clothes were packed, and it was extremely cold windy vibes after a certain point. Nonetheless, good hiking vibes and a fantastic day!

Be like my friend. She faced her fears today. As we were hiking up Isthmus Peak, we decided to veer off course so we could see the sunset, as we knew we wouldn’t make it to the top in time. Rock climbing up a very steep area, I zoomed off and climbed up the mountain. My friend isn’t as agile on her feet but she still managed to climb up to the top where I was. Go Bryony! So this was her face when she got to the top, unimpressed, but happy she did it.
I’ve done a few hikes in New Zealand, such as Tongariro Crossing, Hooker Valley, and Tasman Glacier and I think I’ll add this one to the “Epic Hiking List!” What a great day this was! Hope you loved all my photos, stay tuned for more Beanies&Bikinis adventures!
