I wanted to do something EPIC. Something I wouldn’t be able to forget, an experience of a lifetime. And quite frankly, something I really didn’t WANT to do, just something that would completely put me out of my comfort zone.
- - Because that's what life is all about right ? - -
Skydiving, that was it! I headed over to Skydive Toronto to face my fears. So much nervousness and anticipation to say the least. What put me off the most (but they had to do it) was make us watch a video about how “we might die”.
- - I don't want to die! Not this early - -
Oh well, I spent all this money I may as well do it. The worst thing about the beginning of the experience was that my tandem partner could barely speak English. So here I was, trying to understand what to do, but could barely make out a word, NOT COOL!
As we were flying up, I told the man to take all my money, I was NOT getting out of that plane. The photo below is what happened right after that brief conversation.
After I got over the fact that I was terrified because I couldn’t breathe during the fall, I felt pretty good. The view is absolutely beautiful. One thing that stays with my is when the man said
"There's no reason to be scared up here, it is down there you should be afraid, all the oncoming vehicles and their speed is much scarier than being up here alone in the beautiful silence"
- - Wow, this is amazing! - -
This was not a natural experience, so I didn't know what to do but cry!
That being said, it was absolutely amazing! I’m quite a panzy when it comes to scary things. I don’t think I’d ever be able to bungy jump, but paragliding and things like that will totally be coming in the future!
