During another van road trip, I got to see the Tasman Glacier again! It’s the second time I’ve see it, and I swear it just doesn’t get old. This mountain range is absolutely phenomenal and my soul is so happy every time I hangout here. The hike to the top was about 15 minutes, and this wasn’t enough for us. I wanted to get some epic photos. You know, the ones that people have to hike to weird places to get. I took a little detour and crawled by the waterline over the large rocks, just to get that photo #doitforthegram. Some of the photos I got are seriously unbelievable, and I hope you think so too.
The thing I loved the most about the Tasman Glacier was the vastness. There was so much space between me and the mountains, I felt so small. I actually love feeling like this because it reminds me that the little everyday “problems” we may have are really very small. It also reminds me to stay present. Seriously, the hardest thing for me while visiting all these amazing places is that I have a hard time just being there and taking it in. I try to take at least 5 minutes of just constant staring at the beauty to try to take it in. Being obsessed with photography doesn’t help because I’m always on the mission to get the perfect shot. Nonetheless, stay present!
Have you been to the Tasman Glacier? If you’re in New Zealand it’s definitely somewhere you NEED to check out! I suggest climbing around the waterline on the rocks and just admiring how beautiful it is. As I was walking around the lake, I noticed some kayaks. This would seriously be an epic place to kayak! Or like Zach, bring your mountain bike, because there’s a sweet trail that goes beyond the glacier! Tasman Glacier is about a 5 minute drive from Mt.Cook town, and it’s one of those place you NEED to see in New Zealand.
I had so many photos to post and I hope you loved them all! Cheers and get outside.
